Participation in the work of the Intergovernmental Council on the CIS Agro-Industrial Complex
On September 18, 2025, Deputy Director for Research S. A. Kondratenko, as part of the delegation of the Republic of Belarus, took part in the regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Council on the CIS Agro-Industrial Complex in Dushanbe (Republic of Tajikistan).
A report was presented by the developer organization, the State Enterprise “Institute of System Researches in the Agro-Industrial Complex of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus,” on the preparation of a draft new version of the Agreement on Interstate Relations on Agro-Industrial Complex Issues of March 29, 1993.
Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus Yury Gorlov, who led the Belarusian delegation, noted that the Agreement is crucial for strengthening traditional trade and economic ties between the participating states, and consistent implementation of the document's outlined directions will facilitate the efficient use of resource potential for the production of competitive agricultural products and the best possible satisfaction of the needs of the common CIS agricultural market. It was proposed to approve the draft Agreement to further effectively implement other CIS strategic documents and initiatives.
The draft Agreement was generally approved by members of the Intergovernmental Council on Agro-Industrial Complex Issues of the CIS; work on its coordination and promotion will continue.
