Unified Safety Day

Blog

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus, in collaboration with stakeholders, is holding a Unified Safety Day on September 25, 2025. The goal of the event is to train citizens in fire and other emergency response procedures, as well as first aid.

The heads of enterprises and organizations, regardless of ownership, play a key role in organizing and conducting the events. They are the primary implementers of the Unified Safety Day at their locations. On this day, Ministry of Emergency Situations employees will visit a number of organizations to provide advisory assistance on conducting training exercises, including evacuating people from buildings during a fire.

Government agencies, in collaboration with the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health, and the Belarusian Red Cross, are organizing themed training sites in public places. These sites will provide everyone with the practical knowledge and skills necessary for safe behavior in emergency situations..

For the convenience of citizens and organizations, an interactive map with event locations has been prepared. A specialized section with audio and video materials, as well as visual aids, has also been created to assist managers and employees in preparing for and conducting the Unified Safety Day.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations calls on everyone to be understanding and actively involved in this event. Safety begins with each of us.

For reference: The Unified Safety Day has been held in the republic since 2018 at the initiative of the State Secretariat of the Security Council. The impetus for the United Safety Day was the tragedy at the Winter Cherry shopping center in the Russian city of Kemerovo in 2018, where a fire killed 60 people, including 37 children, and injured 79 others. At the time, the building failed to provide fire warnings or evacuation services. No attempt was made to prevent panic, and a stampede developed in the building during the fire. Many people died near the emergency exit, which was locked. Due to the late fire alarm, some patrons died in one of the cinema halls, as the fire cut off escape routes.
