The director, A. V. Pilipuk, delivered a presentation on «The Effectiveness of Implementing and Using Digital Systems in Agricultural Production».
During discussions on the possibilities of applying digital technologies in agriculture, conference participants showed interest in the institute’s developments in the digitalization of the domestic agricultural sector and actively took part in a survey.
Survey Results:
1. In the digitalization of crop production, the most commonly used tools are:
- Equipment monitoring information systems (79 % of respondents);
- Parallel driving and autopilot systems (approximately 38 %);
- Electronic field maps (46 %).
Additionally, many respondents do not yet use but are interested in implementing UAVs, as well as variable-rate application of fertilizers and plant protection products.
2. In livestock farming, a high level of automation is observed in milking processes with the use of relevant information systems and equipment (64 % of respondents). A significant proportion of agricultural enterprises use software for feed management and ration optimization (50 %), but there is still insufficient use of systems for zootechnical accounting and optimization of veterinary and insemination specialist work (36 % and 7 % of respondents, respectively).
3. In agricultural enterprise management digitalization, bookkeeping automation systems are widely used (around 80 % of respondents). However, business planning automation software is still underutilized (only 7 %), though there is considerable interest in such systems (62 %).
4. Respondents also shared their views on measures needed to accelerate digitalization in agricultural organizations:
- Access to targeted subsidies and preferential loans (43 % of respondents);
- Integration of crop and livestock management information systems with accounting automation systems (40 %);
- Development of a digital transformation strategy for enterprises (29 %).
