The monograph was developed on the basis of the results of fundamentally oriented research by the Institute of Agrarian Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for 2003. It includes a study of the existing and predicted trends in the development of Agro-Industrial Complex, a set of measures and mechanisms aimed at increasing the profitability and competitiveness of agricultural products, stabilizing the provision of food to the population, enhancing exports and strengthening the country's food security, developing market mechanisms for self-regulation and state regulation, improving the organizational and legal structure and the technical and technological basis of Agro-Industrial Complex.

It is intended for use by government bodies in order to develop programs for socio-economic development, develop directions and methods for implementing agrarian policy, and stabilize the food market in Belarus. It is a theoretical basis for conducting applied research in the field of agricultural economics.
