Chvanov Alexander Ivanovich

A. I. Chvanov was born in 1923 in the village of Sivil, Krasnobrodsk district, Mordovian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. Higher education. In 1957 he graduated from the Belarusian Agricultural Academy with a specialty in scientific agronomist, PhD in Economic Sciences. Served in the Soviet Army from 1941 to 1948. School cadet, deputy battery commander, battery commander of an anti-tank fighter regiment. Demobilized in 1948 with the military rank of major. From 1948 to 1981 he worked in various economic, soviet, and party bodies.

From 1981 to 1988 – senior researcher at the Belarusian Research Institute of Economics and Organization of Agriculture, from 1988 to 1991 – specialist in the self-supporting group for the implementation of the rural social development sector.

Participant of the Great Patriotic War. For military and industrial services to the country, A. I. Chvanov was awarded the Order of the Red Star, the Red Banner of Labor, the «Badge of Honor», the medals «For Courage», «For Victory over Germany», «30 Years of the Soviet Army and Navy», «20 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945,» «40 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945,» «For valiant work in honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of V. I. Lenin.»
