Prokopenko Nikolay Fedorovich
N. F. Prokopenko was born on December 17, 1923 in the village of Heydino, Aleksandrovsk district, Donetsk region. Higher education. Graduated from the Kharkov Automobile and Highway Institute (1951). Doctor of Economic Sciences (1981), Professor (1987).
He served in the Soviet Army from 1941 to 1945. After demobilization, from 1945 to 1951 he studied at the Institute; from 1951 to 1975 he worked in various economic, soviet, and party bodies in various positions.
From 1975 to 1985 – Director of the Belarusian Research Institute of Economics and Organization of Agriculture, from 1985 to 2005 – Head of Department, Chief Researcher, Advisor to the Director of the Institute.
Participant of the Great Patriotic War. For services to the country, N. F. Prokopenko was awarded the Order of the Red Star, Lenin, Red Banner of Labor, October Revolution, Patriotic War, 1st degree, eleven combat and labor medals, three gold and six silver medals from the Exhibition of Economic Achievements of the USSR, two Certificates of Honor of the Supreme Council of the Belarusian SSR.
