Flax sub-complex in the Republic of Belarus is characterized by a set of industries and enterprises connected by economic relations regarding the production of raw materials and final products. A feature of its functioning is the excess of raw material production over the volume of output of final products, which gives the structure a raw material orientation and determines the dependence on the global flax fiber market conditions.

The monograph presents the features of the formation and functioning of the world market for flax raw materials and end products; the current trends and prospects for the development of the domestic market of flax products have been identified; directions for intensifying flax cultivation, improving the mechanization of flax growing and increasing the efficiency of processing flax raw materials are substantiated. Particular attention is paid to promising areas for the use of raw flax (fiber, brome, seeds).
