Krestovskiy Viktor Grigorievich, PhD in Economics

Director of the institute in 1969–75 and 1985–94.
In the late 1960s and early 1970s, a distinctive feature of development of the agrarian economy of the Republic and the activities of V. G. Krestovskiy were the processes of cooperation and integration of agro-industrial production. The Institute studied: problems of rational placement, specialization and concentration of agricultural production; organizational and economic foundations of industrial agricultural enterprises and associations; principles of forming agro-industrial enterprises and associations, improving the scientific organization of labor, increasing labor productivity and management, improving remuneration, economic accounting.
In the 2nd half of the 1980s the internal structure of the institute and areas of research were reorganized. The emphasis was placed on informatization and computerization of scientific departments and agro-economic research. Over a short period, the institute mastered market theory and methodology and began to develop scientific recommendations for adapting the practice of agro-industrial production to market organizational and production relations. Institute scientists actively worked on the issues of market transformation of the production system, the organizational structure of agriculture, the management system, including the formation of a new mentality of managers and specialists of Agro-Industrial Complex in accordance with market laws, patterns and principles.
It should be emphasized that the Belarusian Research Institute of Economic Problems of Agro-Industrial Complex was one of the first in the CIS on the territory of the former Soviet Union, back in 1991, to develop the first comprehensive Program for the transition of Agro-Industrial Complex of the Belarusian SSR to market relations.
V. G. Krestovskiy published more than 120 works, prepared 5 candidates of economic sciences.
