The results of monitoring of food security are presented, conducted in accordance with the methodology, provisions, criteria, and indicators of the Concept of National Food Security of the Republic of Belarus, approved by the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated March 10, 2004, № 252. An analysis of trends and prospects for the development of demand and supply on global commodity markets was carried out, as well as a comprehensive assessment of national food security, including physical and economic access to food, the competitiveness of commodity producers in the domestic and foreign markets, taking into account the comparative economic efficiency of production and sales.

A forecast for the balanced development of the main food markets until 2020 has been developed, which envisages optimal parameters of food security as target benchmarks, expanding the capacity of the domestic consumer market, and realizing the export potential of the domestic Agro-Industrial Complex.
