The main results of research on the section "Economics and organization of the agro-industrial complex" of the State scientific and technical program "Agroindustrial complex - sustainable development" for 2013 are presented. The basis for the developments are economic, methodological and scientific recommendations, mechanisms, models, guidelines and proposals, the implementation of which is aimed increasing the sustainability and efficiency of the functioning of agriculture and other sectors of the agro-industrial complex.

The results of the research were discussed and approved at the meetings of the Academic Council of the Institute for System Research in the Agroindustrial Complex of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
